Myrtle Jean Stuckwisch, 89, of Seymour passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour.

Mrs. Stuckwisch was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers. She retired from Dicksons and was a homemaker.

Born June 26, 1927, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Leo and Emma Auffenberg Wehrkamp, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 8, 1947, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown, she married Harold A.D. Stuckwisch, and he preceded her in death Aug. 2, 1974.

Survivors include four sons, Thomas (Vivian) Stuckwisch of Sellersburg, Max Stuckwisch of Brownstown, Dennis (Beth) Stuckwisch of Columbus and Jeffrey (Lori) Stuckwisch of Evansville; one daughter, Sharon Rohr of Seymour; three sisters, Melba Redicker of Vallonia, Beulah Rieckers Pottschmidt and Vonnie Bryant, both of Seymour; 10 grandchildren, Matt Rohr, Rachel Klosterman, Sarah Carver, Clayton Stuckwisch, Dr. Jason Stuckwisch, Derick Stuckwisch, Emily Stuckwisch, Katie Stuckwisch, Carie Stuckwisch and Spencer Stuckwisch; four stepgrandchildren, Tricia Sellers Stuart, Michelle Sellers Spence, Shannon Sellers McGahren and Stephanie Sellers Mazzon; 14 great-grandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by one brother, Otis Wehrkamp; son-in-law, Frank L. Rohr; daughter-in-law, Jane F. Stuckwisch; stepmother, Lilly Wehrkamp; great-grandchild, Cami Stuckwisch; and stepgreat-grandson, Sam MacGahren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, with Pastor Craig Muhlbach officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from noon until time of service Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sauers.
