Mildred Ann Daab, 95, of Seymour passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.
Born Sept. 8, 1921, in Jonesville, she was the daughter of Louis and Emelia Schuette Price, both of whom preceded her in death.
On Dec. 6, 1941, the evening before the attack on Pearl Harbor, she married Warren Daab at the St. Paul Lutheran Church parsonage in Jonesville by the Rev. Hoferkamp. They often told how the reception that Sunday was not a celebration of joy but of sadness.
Warren and Mildred loved to travel and had been to nearly every state. They loved country music, the Grand Ole Opry and Renfro Valley. Mildred’s last trip was to Atlanta in 2010 at the age of 89. She very much enjoyed the gathering with fellow friends from Jonesville, as they were called the Jonesville Belles.
She stayed very active, as she worked for Arvin Industries and Cummins Engine Co. during World War II. She then spent some time with Excello Shirt Factory and Spraytown Grocery. She and Warren even helped take care of the local Spraytown Cemetery. Her greatest accomplishment was being a homemaker. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Waymansville and a member of the Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her children, Diana (Ronald) Toburen, Bonita (Jerry) Thompson and Louis “Bud” (Bonnie) Daab; grandchildren, Brian (Sondra) Toburen, Jeff (Kathy) Toburen, Angela (Dave) Strain, Tena Sears, Aaron Thompson, Amy (Murl) Robinson and JeanAnn (Shawn) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Quintin Zornes, Michael Toburen, Conner Sears, Tristan Robinson and Cooper Robinson; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Louis Price Jr; and sister, Bernice (Kenneth) Arnholt.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Price.
The funeral service will be conducted by Voss and Sons Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Waymansville with the Rev. John Beabout officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Waymansville.
Burial will be at Spraytown Cemetery.
