Nancy Joan Bevers Grantham

MERRIMACK, New Hampshire

Nancy Joan Bevers Grantham, 79, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Born Jan. 21, 1938, in Seymour, Nancy Jo was the daughter of Joe Clarence and Ida Belle Mitchell Bevers, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Donald Duane Grantham, who survives.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in education at Ball State University in 1959 and later went on to teach elementary school for a number of years. She was a very active member of United Methodist Church in Westford, Massachusetts, where she was trained as a pastoral counselor and also was a manager for the House of Hope. Most recently, she was an active member of St. James United Methodist Church in Merrimack, New Hampshire. In her free time, she enjoyed and was passionate about playing the piano and organ, reading, writing letters and puzzles, but most of all, being devoted to her family and faith.

Other survivors besides her husband of 60 years include four sons, Tim Grantham of Franklin, Massachusetts, Scott (Lynne) Grantham of Fallbrook, California, Todd (Tracy) Grantham of Charleston, South Carolina, and Jeff (Karen) Grantham of Merrimack; a brother, Jon Bevers of Columbus; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Bevers.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. James United Methodist Church in Merrimack.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Rivet Funeral Home in Merrimack.

Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, St. James UMC Food Pantry or the donor’s choice of charity.
