NORTH VERNON

Walter Eugene Speer, 80, of Columbia Township in Jennings County died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Evelyn Speer; children, Gary (Janet) Speer and Walter Leon (Meaghan) Speer, both of North Vernon, Daniel (Michele) Speer of Holton, Kristina (Gary) Johnson of Westport, Jeanetta “Jeanie” (Dale) Koelmel of Butlerville and Janet (Thomas) McGreal of San Marino, California; brother, Wayne (Janet) Speer of Lexington; sister, Virginia (Walter) Brauer of Brownsburg; and 10 grandsons, 12 granddaughters and 26 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Burial will be in Butlerville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or donor’s choice of charity.
