INDOT plans public transit meeting

Indiana Department of Transportation Transit is conducting a public meeting for the regional coordinated public transit-human services transportation plan update for Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, Monroe and Owen counties.

The meeting will from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 12 at Brown County YMCA, 105 Willow St., Nashville.

The purpose is to provide an opportunity for the public to identify transportation needs in their community. Senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, public and agency-sponsored transportation riders, public, non-profit, and private transportation providers, people who use transportation, human service agency staff and other advocates for community transit will want to attend and discuss this important topic.

Agencies that receive or intend to receive funding under the FTA Section 5310 Program must participate in coordinated transportation planning in order to be eligible for funding.
