Marcille E. Rotert Borcherding, 91, of Seymour passed away July 23, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born Nov. 23, 1924, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Ben and Mabel Kiel Burbrink, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 14, 1944, in Jonesville, she married Thurman Rotert, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 21, 1976, in Waymansville, she then married Arvel J. Borcherding, who also preceded her in death.

Marcille graduated from Shields High School in Seymour. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Waymansville, and a member of St. Peter Ladies Aid and the Jonesville Bells. She loved to sew, crochet and make quilts and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Roger (Donna) Rotert; daughter, Connie (Robert) Stiles; four stepchildren, David (Susan) Borcherding, Max Borcherding, Jane (Joe Fritzgerald) Thomas and Douglas (Jennifer) Borcherding; two grandchildren, Kristi Elkins and Todd McKinney; four great-grandchildren, Brittani Montgomery, Bethani Elkins, Brianna Elkins and Claire Mckinney; three great-great grandchildren, Cole Benton, Zoie Benton and Lauren Pryor; eight stepgrandchildren, Sam Borcherding, Will Borcherding, Mollie Borcherding, Dave (Trish) Borcherding, Jennifer (Jon) Matchett, Eric (Gretchen) Borcherding, Dale Dewar and Becky (Larry) Jones; and several step great-grandchildren.

Beside her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jean Bobb; and two brothers, Floyd Burbrink and Leonard Dean Burbrink.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Waymansville, with the Rev. John Beabout officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Voss Chapel and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Waymansville, for the building fund or The American Stroke Foundation.
