FREETOWN

Michael Gooden, 60, of Freetown passed away Friday, July 1, 2016, at his home.

Born Oct. 13, 1955, in Seymour, he was the son of James Louis Gooden Jr. and Ruby Rose Pray Gooden, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 14, 1977, in Indianapolis, he married Amy Renee Rooker, who survives.

Mike was retired but loved working on computers. He received his black belt in karate at an early age. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing guitar, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Other survivors include his children, Valerie (Gary) Gooden Schoettmer of Anderson and Stephen Gooden of Carmel; grandchildren, Caeley, Logan, Joshua and Matthew Schoettmer; siblings, Jeffrey Gooden and Thomas Gooden, both of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; sister, Teresa (Jeff) Gooden Waggoner of Freetown; two aunts; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at a future date. Per his wishes, cremation has been chosen.
