Wilbur Edwin “Wib” Fenneberg, 78, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, surrounded by his loving family.

Born Feb. 17, 1938, in Seymour, he was the son of Edwin W. and Anna A. Wischmeier Fenneberg, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 14, 1964, at St. Peters Lutheran Church, he was married to Gladys L. Kamman by the Rev. O.L. Hartman.

Wib was a member of Zion Lutheran Church since 1972. He was a private first class in the U.S. Army, serving in Alaska. He was formerly an employee of Schneider Nursery and was co-owner of Will’s Tavern in Seymour for more than 25 years until his retirement. After he retired, he worked at Happy Herman’s Liquor Store in Brownstown. He played dartball for more than 50 years and was known as one of the best. He sponsored softball teams for many years and was an avid IU and LA Dodgers fan. He loved to play with his grandkids as much as possible. He enjoyed gardening, trimming shrubs and trees, and all outdoor landscaping. He was very particular about his work and anyone driving by could recognize “Wib’s yard work.”

Other survivors besides his wife of more than 50 years, include children, Daniel Fenneberg, Timothy Fenneberg and Jeffrey (Leanna) Fenneberg; two grandchildren, Addison and Kellen Fenneberg; brother, Alfred (Mildred) Fenneberg; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with a military flag ceremony and the playing of taps.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Voss Chapel and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at church.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, The Lutheran Hour or donor’s choice of charity.
