Edward F. Lawson, 86, of Seymour passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, at his home.

Born May 7, 1929, in Reddington, he was the son of James William and Lillian Degarnet Gray Lawson, both of whom preceded him in death.

Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was employed as an over-the-road trucker for many years, retiring in 2000 from Pepsi Cola.

Ed was a member of Central Christian Church. He also was a 50-year member of the Jackson Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, American Legion Post 89, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 655. He enjoyed spending time at the river and had a great love for dogs.

Survivors include his daughters, Vickie L. Lawson Gilbert of Seymour and Lillian M. (Tim) Kramer of Brownstown; grandchildren, Tiffani (Toby) Calhoun, Trent (Bree) Lawson and Tobias “Toby” Lawson, all of Seymour, and Kinsi Kramer, Kyle Kramer, Suzzanna Kramer, Stephany Kramer and Jennifer Kramer, all of Brownstown; great-grandchildren, Maggie and Myles Calhoun, Trevor and Kailey Jo Lawson, Katelyn McCammon and Sophia Shumard; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Geneva Hilleke.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lawson; four brothers; and three sisters.

A Masonic service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel in Seymour with the eulogy delivered by his daughter, Vickie.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday.

Burial will be at Reddington Cemetery with a military flag presentation provided by American Legion Post 89 and VFW Post 1925 and associates, all of Seymour.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion, VFW or Fraternal Order of Eagles.
