SEYMOUR
Kenneth Parr, 81, of Seymour passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, in Seymour.
Born July 25, 1934, in Brown County, he was the son of Dora Hearth Parr and Cecil Parr, both of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Joann Wissel on Nov. 19, 1954, in the Central Christian Church parsonage by the late Rev. George Florence. She preceded him in death on Sept. 14, 2015.
Kenneth was a member of the 1952 graduating class of Shields High School. He retired from Jay C Food Stores as the meat department manager after 37 years. He enjoyed IU basketball and followed Peyton Manning’s career and was an Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos fan. Kenneth enjoyed time with his family and Joann’s cooking. He also collected Case knives and Zippo lighters.
Survivors include his children, Mike (Tracey) Parr, Rich (Judi) Parr and Jan Walker; grandchildren, Mike Parr II, Lorrie Parr, Cecil Parr, Jenny (Franky) Edwards, Jimmy Walker and Justin Walker; seven great-grandchildren, Ethan Parr, Tyler Stagnolia, Erik Emily, Ava Walker, Ashtyn Walker, Kyra Gerbig and Tia Walker; a brother, Jerry Parr; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Campana.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday.
