Owls fall to Charlestown

CHARLESTOWN

Senior Toriek Miller accounted for 19 points in a 58-44 loss at Charlestown on Friday.

The Owls took a 13-12 advantage in the first eight minutes before leading 25-23 at intermission.

Up 35-34 after three quarters of play, the Pirates exploded for 23 points in the fourth quarter while holding the Owls to 10 to take the win.

Senior Ryan Wieneke was next for the Owls in scoring with 11 points and sophomore Alan Perry added seven.

The Owls (2-8) will play at Jennings County on Friday.

Hornets top Dugger

MEDORA

Medora’s boys basketball team captured a 56-50 win at home Friday evening against Dugger Union.

The game started close as the first quarter closed with Dugger Union up 13-11. The Hornets took command in the second quarter as they outscored Dugger Union 21-8.

The Hornets continued their effort by outscoring Dugger Union 14-12 in the third.

Dugger made it interesting in the fourth by outscoring the Hornets 17-10, but it wasn’t enough for a comeback.

Chase Booker led the Hornets with 21 points and Jalen Beesley added 18.

The Hornets (3-9) will host Bloomington Lighthouse on Friday.
