Norma Jean Nowling, 84, of Seymour passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at her home.

Born Aug. 15, 1931, in Seymour, she was the daughter of George W. and Oma E. Croucher Dunn, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 17, 1970, in Brownstown, she married Don Nowling, who preceded her in death.

Norma retired from Silgan Plastics, where she worked as an inspector. She was a member of The Point and was strong in her faith. She was never seen without her prayer rock.

Norma enjoyed working puzzles, crocheting, playing Skip-Bo with her grandkids, cooking and watching “The Young and the Restless.” Before Don passed away, Norma and Don enjoyed fishing and camping.

Survivors include her children, Nadine Payne, Duane (Trudy) Zimmerman, Donald (Christine) Nowling and Rick Nowling, all of Seymour; grandchildren, Chad Zimmerman, Tasha (Doug) Siefert, Heather (Jon) Guffey, Alex Snyder, Kirsten Milner, Keri Nowling and Ashley Nowling; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Nowling; and siblings, George, William, John, Glen, Gerald, Raymond, Kenny, Willie, Lucille and Shirley Ann.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour with Pastor Joel Burbrink officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday.
