Registration is open for Jackson County Public Library’s free Family Tree for Beginners class from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the computer classroom at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.
There is a limit of 12 participants for the program, and registration is required by Friday by going to myjclibrary.org/events or calling the Seymour Library at 812-523-4636.
Led by information services assistant Janet Hensen, attendees will learn how to construct their family trees.
Each person should bring the names of relatives with their birth and death dates and pictures, if possible. Each person will need to have basic computer skills or bring someone with them who does. This program is suitable for those beginning to research their family trees and for 4-H, Scout and school projects.
Each student will leave with a binder of family tree forms and a Purdue University genealogy booklet sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
