Brownstown Christian planning first trunk or treat

Brownstown Christian Church’s first Trunk and Treat event for the community will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

This free event is being planned as a fun and safe alternative to Halloween, according to a news release from the church.

Families will have the opportunity to walk through a mock street in the church parking lot where members of the congregation will have their vehicles decorated to portray a biblical theme or story from the Bible.

Candy will be passed out of the trunks of the vehicles as families walk through the mock street.

A free chili or chili dog meal will be served.

Games, a cake walk, an inflatable obstacle course, skin decals and more will be offered at the church at 703 W. Spring St.

Donations will be accepted but not expected.
