Leona M. Alexander, 95, of Seymour, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.
Born March 8, 1920, in Dudleytown, she was the daughter of George and Lena Schrader, both of whom preceded her in death.
She married Robert Alexander on Feb. 3, 1940, in Dudleytown. He preceded her in death July 25, 1993.
Leona spent many years working for People’s Bank of Seymour, where she retired at the age of 75. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Her passion was spending time with her family, especially the time she spent watching her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Brenda Snyder, Michael Alexander and Linda (Jim) Stout; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Alexander; nine grandchildren, Terry Snyder, Mike Alexander, Katina Thompson, Jordan Alexander, Bailey Alexander, Stephanie Jayne, Shonna Wolkov, Brian Alexander and Chelsea Hawn; and nine great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her son, Robert Dale Alexander; grandson, David Snyder; son-in-law, Richard Snyder; daughter-in-law, Billie Alexander; three sisters; and four brothers.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. James Rodriguez and the Rev. Philip Bloch officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery.
