The Jackson County Public Library and Jackson County Clerk Amanda Lowery are partnering for National Voter Registration Day from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Seymour Library lobby.
To register for the free service, people must be U.S. citizens, present a driver’s license or state identification card and be 18 by the next Election Day, which is Nov. 3.
The library is at 303 W. Second St.
Started in 2012 for the presidential election, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their most basic right — the right to vote.
More than 356,000 Americans have been registered to vote since the inaugural National Voter Registration Day, according to nationalvoterregistrationday.org.
