GOP to pick Brownstown council member

The Jackson County Republican Party will conduct a caucus to fill the Brownstown Town Council Ward 5 seat.

Eligible precinct committeemen for the town will be voting at 5 p.m. Monday in the clerk’s office inside the Jackson County Courthouse, 111 S. Main St., Brownstown, to replace Dustin Steward, who recently resigned from the town council because he is moving out of Ward 5.

The person chosen will finish out Steward’s term through the end of this year. Town residents will vote for council members in the Nov. 3 general election.
