Immanuel Lutheran Guild have faithful following

Immanuel Lutheran Guild’s regular meeting was conducted Sept. 1 in the fellowship hall at the Seymour church.

President Sandy Kilgas opened the meeting.

The group sang Hymn 722 “Lord Take My Hand and Lead Me.”

Vicar Alex Hoffmeyer led devotions on the topic of vocation.

Several events this summer were reported on, including the Lutheran Home Party; the summer party, which was in July at Simmons Winery with 17 people attending; and guild members supplying desserts in August for the Immanuel Lutheran School golf outing.

Connie Roeder gave a report about the nut sale, and Lisa Lewis spoke about the cookie walk, which is scheduled for Dec. 5. The mite box money will be donated to sponsoring prayers that are published in The Tribune.

The tables were decorated with apples, and apple cake was served. Janet Cooper won the door prize, which was an apple-shaped dish. Joan Nichols had closing devotions “Loopholes.”

Hostesses for the evening were Doris Frey, Betty Chastain and Karen Habenicht.
