Harvest festival planned at Hayden museum

Hayden’s Harvest Past festival will be Saturday at Hayden Historical Museum, 6715 W. County Road 20S.

The featured event is the Eddie Maschino Memorial Antique Tractor Show. The museum grounds will be transformed into a one-day display of antique farm machinery and implements, garden tractors and lawn mowers model year 1990 and older.

The Luke Elsner Memorial 5K Walk/Run will be at 8 a.m. with registration beginning at 7 a.m.

A fruit pie baking contest is set for 11 a.m., with the top three pies being sold at an auction at noon in the pavilion. Slices from the other pie entries will be available for a donation.

Members of the Jennings County High School FFA chapter will organize and operate a pedal tractor pull throughout the day.

The museum, the 1947 Sinclair gas station, A Place Called Yesterday and the Sullivan Blacksmith Shop will be open for visitors. Other attractions during the festival include the Spencer Township Volunteer Fire Department’s chicken barbecue, bluegrass and gospel music and a parade of the tractors through town at 2 p.m.
