Zion Lutheran School celebrates kindergarten graduation

The 2015 graduation exercise recently was conducted for 39 kindergarten students of Zion Lutheran School in the Immanuel Lutheran School gymnasium in Seymour.

The program began with a processional by the students and staff to the music of “Lift High the Cross.” Education director Roy Stuckwisch welcomed those in attendance, and Pastor Jeffrey Stuckwisch of Zion Lutheran Church gave a graduation message to the graduates in opening the ceremony.

The graduating class then sang songs of praise, including “I am Trusting You Lord Jesus,” “God So Loved,” “Ephesians 2:8,” “He is Risen!” and “You Are By My Side.” They also recited scripture reading John 3:16.

Certificates were then presented to the graduates. Helping with the distribution of diplomas were Janeen Keinath, Nancy Lipka, Roy Stuckwisch, Angie Kerkhof and Pastor Stuckwisch.

The ceremony ended with the graduates singing “Graduation Song” and “Go Now in Peace” and those in attendance singing the song “Go My Children.”

Graduates included Rylan Adair, Bryson Baker, Lauren Brown, Jacobi Burns, Hazel Cain, Isaac Carr, Merrek Combs, Brayden Cox, Liam Darlage, Samuel Dyer, Alyssa Fields, Palik Findley, Blayklee Hancock, Claire Hatfield, Emory Helton, Ava Jones, Shaw Jones, Elleigh Kiel, Lane Kleber, Taylor Kramer, Rose Kruse, Hudson Lang, Luke McClure, Jack Mellencamp, Reed Mellencamp, Kelsie Napier, Addison Otte, Olivia Pollert, DeAnna Rothert, Chloe Rudzinski, Klein Simpson, Braxton Sinclair, Carter Stein, Elijah Tempest, Liza Vaughn, Maycie Ward, Brooklyn Whipker, Trista Wischmeier and Lane Woodard.

The guests were invited to attend a reception following the exercise in honor of the graduates. The Zion Lutheran Church board of parish fellowship assisted with the reception.

Others helping with the program included Irma Darlage at the piano, Stephanie Hughel, Kristina Knott, Maggie Schneider, Ruth Southerland and Malinda Bicknell. Several graduate mothers who did the decorations for the event included Sadie Jones, Mindy Pollert and Erica Wischmeier.

Zion Lutheran School is an early childhood school setting with Preschool 2, Preschool 3, Preschool 4 and full-day kindergarten classes in its classroom offerings.

Extend Care services are also available for children ages 2 through kindergarten that are enrolled in one of the class programs.

The school also has been approved as a Jackson County On My Way Pre-K provider school by the state of Indiana.
