Chong Sun “June” Engelking, 72, of Tacoma, Washington, and formerly of Seymour, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015, at home with her loving husband by her side.

She was born in Seoul, South Korea, on Dec. 5, 1942. She met her husband of 40 years, Lawrence E. Engelking, in South Korea when he was serving in the United States Army. They were married May 11, 1974.

Chong Sun was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Before moving to the state of Washington, she had attended Apostolic Pentecostal Tabernacle in Seymour. She had worked for 15 years at Cosco in Columbus.

She will be greatly missed by her husband; son, Bill (Kristin) Engelking; four darling granddaughters, Destiny, Alyssa, Alexis and Olivia; three sisters, Young Engelking, Chong IM YI and Chong A. Scott; and a brother and sister in Seoul, South Korea.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel in Seymour. Burial will follow at First Marion Baptist Cemetery in Jennings County.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
