Registrations are being accepted for the first Miss Golden Heartland Pageant to be conducted June 5 at Immanuel Lutheran School, 605 S. Walnut St., Seymour.

The pageant is for girls and young women between the ages of 8 and 21. The deadline to register is May 11.

Southern Indiana Hispanic Services and Rose Acre Farms are sponsoring the event.

Contestants will be judged by age groups. The groups are Miss Pre-Teen Golden Heartland (ages 8 to 11); Miss Junior Golden Heartland (ages 12 to 14); and Miss Golden Heartland (ages 15 to 21).

The public is invited, and doors open at 4:45 p.m. with food to be available for purchase. The main event starts at 6 p.m.

Tickets, which will be available at the door, are $2 for adults and $1 for children 10 and under. It’s free for infants and toddlers in arms.

There will be more that $750 in scholarship money and additional prizes.
