Betty Marie Schepman, 75, of Seymour, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, surrounded by her family and caregivers.

Born May 22, 1939, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Harry and Frances Smith Brandt, both of whom preceded her in death. On Aug. 4, 1957, she married the love of her life, Maurice “Dinger” Schepman, who preceded her in death Aug. 27, 2005.

Betty was a farm wife and homemaker. She faithfully attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour.

Survivors include her children, Joe (Rita) Schepman and Sue (Tony) Nehrt; grandchildren, Brad (Erin) Schepman, Leah (Kyle) Musselman, Renee Nehrt and Nick Nehrt (fiancee Emily Currao); great-grandchildren, Brinley, Lyla and Morgan Schepman; brother, William “Bill” (Sandy) Brandt; sister-in-law, Doris (R.K.) Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband of 48 years, she was preceded in death by her stepfather Jack Robbins; brother, Robert Wayne Brandt; and grandson, Jonathan Lee Schepman.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch, the Rev. James Rodriguez and Vicar Daniel Merz officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
