Give old pair of shoes new life as donation to needy

A group of Seymour students and a local doctor have teamed up to form a Shoes for Sharing program.

The program, organized by members of Seymour High School’s National Honor Society and Dr. Walter G. Warren, allows people to donate gently used shoes and/or new socks.

Shoes must be clean and tied or banded together. All types of shoes for men, women and children will be accepted, including boots, dress shoes, athletic shoes and sandals.

Shoes and socks can be left at Comprehensive Foot & Ankle Center, 1239 E. Fourth Street Road, Seymour, or the high school until Monday. Those items will be distributed from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Feb. 14 in the commons area at the high school.

For information, contact Macey Warren at 812-569-3370 or by email at [email protected] or call Jan Warren at 812-525-7488.

The shoes are distributed free to residents of Jackson County as part of an effort to make sure people have shoes that fit and keep their feet warm and dry.
