Ruth Geneal Carter, 82, of Seymour, passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born Nov. 24, 1932, in Cortland, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Emma Quade Plumer.

On Nov. 28, 1957, in California, Ruth married Robert Dale Carter, who preceded her in death Jan. 25, 1996.

She is survived by her children, Debora L. Carter, Linda G. (Jeff) Sease and Ricky D. (Angie) Carter; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her brother, Joe (Dee) Plumer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen S. Chambers; sister, Lois Williams; and brothers, Glen Plumer and Harold Plumer.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. James Rodriguez officiating. Following the service, there will a Voss dove release. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
