Two Jackson County organizations recently received grants for operating support from the Indiana Arts Commission.

Jackson County Community Theatre received a $4,080 arts grant, and Southern Indiana Center for the Arts received a $6,859 grant.

The commission awards the grants annually to organizations across the state. This year’s awards were announced Tuesday during a program at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. The grants were presented to 38 individual artists, seven schools or teaching artists and 78 cultural programming providers.
