Bernice Christopher, 93, of Dudleytown, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.

Mrs. Christopher was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Brownstown, the daughter of John F. and Matilda E. Darlage VonDielingen.

Bernice was married to Roscoe E. Christopher on April 29, 1945, at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Sauers). He preceded her in death April 27, 2007. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and gardening and loved spending time with her family.

Bernice was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown, and the Martha Society.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Noel of Seymour, Joyce Lucas of Brownstown, Kathleen Kerkhof of Seymour, Nancy (Jay) Cherry of Seymour and Denise (Mark) Nichols of Dudleytown; 13 grandchildren, Daniel Noel, Jennifer (Kevin) Alberring, James (Julia) Lucas, Janet (Sam) Lee, Jason (Leslie) Lucas, Jeffrey Lucas, Kyle (Angela) Kerkhof, Eric (Amanda) Kerkhof, Emily (Ryan) Cremeans, Lindsey Cherry, Brian (Jennifer) Cherry, Lori (Kevin) Lister and Alyssa (Kyle) Gentry; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kendra Kerkhof; grandson, Chris Nichols, two great-grandsons, Jacob and Evan Lucas; three brothers, Ray, Clifford and Robert Von Dielingen; three sisters, Wilma Wessel, Mabel Stahl and Marilyn Goecke; a half-sister, Hilda Wehmiller; and three sons-in-law; Dennis Noel, Bob Lucas and Joseph Kerkhof.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Whan officiating. Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel and 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place at Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, following the service.
