A monthly professional development seminar series for young professionals living and/or working in Jackson County will begin Thursday.
The first session of Jackson County Young Professionals’ JCYP POWER HOUR of 2015 is titled “Education: From Cradle to Grave.” It will focus on the importance of education from pre-K to postsecondary to life skills.
This event will be from noon to 1 p.m. at the Jackson County Learning Center, 323 Dupont Drive, Seymour. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch and questions about the Jackson County Education Coalition or learning center.
Dan Hodge, executive director of the Jackson County Education Coalition, will present the program.
The coalition was formed in 2012 and is a countywide partnership of education, industry and community leaders focused on aligning and integrating the county’s learning system with economic growth and a high quality of life. The coalition was a key player in the county receiving a state grant for the On My Way Pre-K pilot program.
This event is sponsored by Jackson County Young Professionals and is free. The group was formed by a 2013 Leadership Jackson County team.
