COLUMBUS

John L. Pheral Sr., 94, of Columbus, died at 4:44 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Niemoeller Pheral of Columbus; a daughter, Karen Stein of Seymour; sons, John (Sara Frease) Pheral Jr. of Dayton, Ohio, and Ronald (Teresa) Pheral of Paris Crossing; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma Pheral in 1985; a daughter, Lora Ann Pheral; sisters, Thelma Nehrt and Dorothy Weddle; and a brother, Thomas Pheral.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church in Columbus with Pastor Adam Carrigan officiating. Burial will follow in Crothersville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Myers-Reed Chapel in Columbus and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
