Dennis P. McNeely, 66, formerly of Seymour, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, after a recurring illness.

Born Oct. 20, 1948, in Seymour, he was the son of Lester and Dorothy (Satterly) McNeely.

Dennis graduated from Seymour High School in 1967. After high school, he served in the United States Naval Air Force as a jet mechanic until his retirement in 1990. After retirement, he continued using his jet mechanic talents for Northrop Grumman Aerospace and Delta Airlines.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Lauren (Paulsen) McNeely; children, Tina (Ryan) Kraft, Phillip McNeely and Sarah (Kyle) Sturgeon; three grandchildren, Harper Kraft, Kane and Lucy Sturgeon; brother, Jeff (Rita) McNeely and their children Brianne Duvall, Jordan (Jennifer) McNeely and Charla (Rusty) Bickel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his maternal grandparents, Virgil (Nellie) Satterly, and paternal grandparents, Garrett (Ada) McNeely.

A private family memorial to celebrate his life will be held.
