Gift of Grain donation supports Red team

D.B. Pfaffenberger Farms of rural Seymour recently donated 100 bushels of soybeans to the Community Foundation of Jackson County through the Gift of Grain program.

The farm cast its votes in the Head to Head: Green vs. Red contest for the Red team. The Red team now leads the Green team with 79.8 percent of the vote.

The farm’s donation was processed through Tampico Grain in Vernon Township. Other participating elevators are Jackson-Jennings Co-op in Brownstown and Seymour, Bundy Brothers in Medora and Rose Acre Farms near Cortland.

To cast your vote in the Head to Head: Green vs. Red contest, donate a gift of grain to the foundation or submit a cash donation to the Jackson County Community Endowment. A $25 donation earns one vote for the team of your choice. A $100 donation earns five votes.

Currently, donations to the endowment can earn matching dollars on a one-to-one basis from Lilly Endowment through the GIFT VI program. Earnings from the endowment help fund grants through the foundation’s fall grant cycle.
