Owls buckle down against Bulldogs

BATESVILLE

The Seymour girls basketball team was able to climb out of a five-point hole late in the fourth quarter to defeat Batesville 61-55 on Tuesday.

Trailing by five points with 3:30 to go, the Owls were able to force a number of turnovers to retake the lead.

On the night, the Owls struggled with two-point field goals as they finished 13 of 40 (33 percent) shooting.

The Bulldogs gave up 21 turnovers on the night.

Maci Lubker led the Owls with 15 points, and Emilee Pollmann grabbed the most boards with five rebounds.

With the win, the Owls move to 2-0 this season. They will head to Floyd Central on Tuesday.
