The Franklin College business department’s senior class continued a longstanding tradition of excellence on the Major Field Test, according to a press release from the college.

The exam tests a student’s ability to retain and apply the knowledge gained in their business, economics and accounting classes.

Jackson County students who completed the Major Field Test were Peter Duncan, son of Louis and Paula Duncan, and Devon Joray, daughter of Jeff and Debbie Joray, all of Seymour.

This year’s cumulative class score ranked Franklin College in the top 3 percent among the more than 400 U.S. colleges and universities that use the test. The department has a long streak of performances that place it in the top 10 percent in the nation each year.

As a requirement for their degree, senior business majors at Franklin have taken the Major Field Test since 1992.
