The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Jackson County event leadership team met Feb. 8 at MainSource Bank in Seymour.

The 2016 Relay For Life of Jackson County called “Go! Fight! CURE!” will be from 6 p.m. to midnight May 20 at Seymour Middle School. It will include a visit from the Pacers Fan Van from 6 to 8 p.m.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature event, dedicated to increasing awareness and raising funds to fight cancer.

During the event, participants and visitors have a chance to celebrate the victory of area cancer survivors during the Survivors’ Lap, remember those who have lost their battle to the disease during the Luminaria Ceremony and participate in the Fight Back Ceremony that gives everyone a chance to proclaim their way of taking action against the disease.

The Survivor Dinner is being planned for May 7 at The Point.

Teams are seeking donations and sponsorships with an April 11 deadline for sponsors to be listed on the event T-shirt. Participants must raise $100 and be registered by April 11 to be guaranteed a T-shirt.
