Woman dies after accident on I-65

A Freetown woman died after being injured in a crash on Interstate 65 in Greenwood this weekend.

Patsie Linville, 78, was riding in a car that struck a safety barrier, then a semi and hit a concrete barrier at the County Line Road exit, according to a news release from Indiana State Police.

Police and witnesses said the vehicle was moving from the exit lane for County Line Road to continue northbound on I-65, the release said.

The area where the accident happened is in a construction zone on I-65, where multiple accidents have happened in recent weeks.

Linville was taken to Eskenazi Hospital after the accident at 5 p.m. Saturday and died later that night, the release said. Savoy White, 75, Noblesville, who was driving the car, was also taken to the hospital.

The driver of the semi was not injured, the release said.
